Our contribution
At Urenco we are fully compliant with and committed to the treaties, laws and regulations that govern the nuclear energy industry and promote the peaceful application of nuclear power. The nuclear industry is highly regulated at both national and international levels. Urenco operates within a strict system of international legal agreements that ensure the peaceful use of nuclear energy worldwide, including the Treaty of Almelo, the Treaty of Washington and the Treaty of Cardiff. These international agreements ensure we consistently meet the stringent inspection criteria set by global governing bodies, the IAEA and EURATOM, which act as a model for nuclear non-proliferation.
