Cadmium isotopes (Cd)
Cadmium isotopes are used in medical, industrial and research applications. Stable cadmium isotopes can be enriched or depleted by Urenco Stable Isotopes to any concentration, and supplied in various chemical forms.
Naturally occurring cadmium has eight stable isotopes.
Isotope | Maximum available enrichment (atomic %) | Natural abundance (atomic %) |
---|---|---|
¹⁰⁶Cd | >99, <1 | 1.25 |
¹⁰⁸Cd | >99, <1 | 0.89 |
¹¹⁰Cd | >99, <1 | 12.50 |
¹¹¹Cd | >99, <1 | 12.80 |
¹¹²Cd | >99, <1 | 24.10 |
¹¹³Cd | >99, <1 | 12.20 |
¹¹⁴Cd | >99, <1 | 28.70 |
¹¹⁶Cd | >99, <1 | 7.50 |
Application of Cadmium isotopes
Cadmium 110 (Cd 110)
Cd-110 has an application in helium-Cadmium lasers. It boosts the output of the laser and also increases its coherence length.
Cadmium 112 (Cd 112)
Cd-112 is employed as a precursor for the important radiopharmaceutical isotope In-111, which has many varied medical applications.
Cd-110 has an application in helium-Cadmium lasers. It boosts the output of the laser and also increases its coherence length.
Cadmium 114 (Cd 114)
Cd-114 has an application in helium-Cadmium lasers. It boosts the output of the laser and also increases its coherence length.
Cadmium 116 (Cd 116)
Cd-116 has an application in helium-Cadmium lasers. It boosts the output of the laser and also increases its coherence length.
