We are looking for a Quality Engineer (Electrical) to strengthen our team in Almelo. In this role, you will support, monitor, and inspect technical processes to ensure that new facilities meet strict quality standards and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

What you’ll do:
As a Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with contractors/suppliers, project managers, and other stakeholders to maintain high-quality outcomes.
- Review and provide feedback on documentation from stake holders.
- Preparing and maintaining documentation related to quality control and compliance where necessary.
- Support the Quality Control Inspector in reviewing contractors’ quality plans (QPs) and manufacturing inspection and test plans (MITPs) to ensure compliance, when needed.
- Be actively involved throughout the entire manufacturing and implementation phases of the project lifecycle.
- Interpret technical drawings and possess strong knowledge of systems, materials and techniques in applicable discipline.
- Stay informed of the latest regulatory requirements and coach internal teams on their application and proper usage.
- Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives, using quality data to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Record/capture and apply lessons learned from quality-related incidents to avoid recurrence and enhance future performance.
- Perform supplier audits to ensure that their quality standards align with Urenco’s requirements and project expectations.
What do you need to thrive in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Engineering (electrical), with a clear understanding of technical business processes.
- At least 5 - 10 years of relevant practical experience within your discipline.
- Experience with inspection procedures, certification processes in technical industries and the ability to conduct quality audits and supplier inspections.
- Proven ability to develop and evaluate Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and Manufacturing Inspection and Test Plans (MITPs), from suppliers.
- A proactive, independent work attitude with the ability to deliver results autonomously.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant quality and regulatory requirements, with the ability to ensure compliance across all project phases.
- Experience in supporting and influencing quality throughout the project lifecycle, from design to delivery.
Desirable Skills
- Risk Management: Familiarity with risk-based approaches to quality, such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and RCA (Root Cause Analysis).
- Supplier Relationship Management: Proven experience in building, maintaining and managing strong relationships to improving supplier quality standards and drive performance.
- Data analysis: Ability to analyse complex data sets and use them to make informed decisions.
- Root Cause Analysis: Strong skills in RCA and problem-solving, with a track record of driving improvements based on quality issues.
- Continuous Improvement Tools: Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to internal teams and external partners.
- Language Skills: Fluent in both Dutch and English (spoken and written).
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel as part of the role, including international travel.

Security vetting
Due to the nature of the industry that Urenco operates in, all personnel regardless of employment status working for Urenco are required to obtain security clearance at the level required for their role. Security clearances are assessed in accordance with regulations and official guidance issued by the relevant competent authorities for national security vetting. In certain circumstances, additional enhanced security clearance considerations apply to roles within Urenco owing to the particular activities that the Urenco Group undertakes in relation to uranium enrichment. Successful candidates will need to satisfy security requirements, and all offers of appointment are made subject to the successful approval of all checks initiated.
