HSE Adviser Radiation Protection

We’re looking for a HSE Adviser (Radiation Protection). Based at our Capenhurst site near Chester. As part of a wider HSE team you’ll be integrated into the operational business units to provide health physics advice and support to our operations, maintenance and project teams.

Within the framework set by the site Radiation Protection Adviser you will be providing practical frontline advice on compliance with the Ionising Radiations Regulations including supporting

• Risk assessment
• The implementation of contamination control arrangements
• Dose management and dose assessment
• The designation of controlled and supervised areas
• The content and adequacy of local rules including the development and exercising of contingency plans
• The adequacy of workplace monitoring arrangements

• Operational experience in a radiation protection or health physics discipline
• A passion for coaching and mentoring others
• A desire to solve problems by providing practical and pragmatic solutions
• The ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms
• A team player who enjoys supporting their colleagues to achieve positive outcomes
