We're looking for a Financial Planning Analyst.
Based at our Paddington site this a varied role that provides support to the Business Planning & Commercial Manager and the wider FP&A team. The position encompasses all aspects of assistance for a team collectively responsible for: preparing financial forecasts managing the group budget cycle accounting for nuclear provisions and inventory developing the group business plan producing management reports overseeing CapEx and OpEx reporting supporting business development initiatives and maintaining financial systems and controls.

What you’ll do:

• Provide the FP&A Manager and wider team with updated nuclear decommissioning forecasts for the Budget, Business Plan, and annual latest estimate outturns. Maintain strong relationships with fuel fabricators and transporters to ensure efficient management.
• Delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring proper classification of CAPEX versus OPEX and internal CAPEX reporting for Urenco Limited. Support the preparation of forecasts for budgets, reforecasts and group business plan to the FP&A manager, maintaining alignment with organisational objectives.
• Perform detailed variance analysis of IT, CISO and RenU project expenditure against budget, offering insights and recommendations to drive informed decision-making and cost optimisation.
• Assist with the maintenance and completion of control documentation to the extent that it relates to the areas of responsibility for the team specifically nuclear provisions, inventories, asset impairment reviews and the forecasting cycle.
• Includes documentation of Key Accounting Judgements (KAJ’s) and upcoming UK new corporate governance regime.

What do you need to thrive in this role?

• Professional accountancy qualification, ideally ACA or international equivalent
• Strong working experience in a similar field, ideally within a regulatory industry
• Audit experience - would suit qualified chartered accountant looking for first step into Industry
• Embraces continuous improvement and innovation
• Acts consciously with a broader and longer-term perspective in mind
