Help us to make a world of difference

Urenco is a global leader in the production of low carbon energy. We work at the cutting edge of the transition to a sustainable, net zero world.

As an E&I Maintenance Technician (Central Repair) based at our Capenhurst site, you will carry out electrical and instrumentation maintenance, repair, and installation activities across plant and process equipment, ensuring operational reliability, compliance, and cost‑effective delivery.

At Urenco we’re committed to giving you opportunities to be your best. If you feel you meet some, but not all of what we're looking for, please still apply. We believe in embracing the passion and potential of our people, and to achieve this we offer market leading training and development experiences. Along with the opportunity to be mentored and coached by some of the smartest minds in the industry.

What you’ll do

  • Carry out safe, compliant maintenance activities and provide minor project support as part of a multi‑disciplined engineering team.
  • Deliver a reliable electrical maintenance service, ensuring plant and process equipment remains available and fit for purpose.
  • Operate plant equipment to support the successful delivery of site programmes and operational schedules.
  • Provide electrical maintenance support across the site, responding effectively to planned and reactive requirements.
  • Work with a high level of attention to detail, ensuring all tasks are completed in line with authorised procedures and standards.
  • Comply fully with all legislative, regulatory, and company policies and procedures, including safety, quality, risk and security requirements relevant to the role.

What you need to thrive in this role

  • A recognised electrical qualification, with experience in an electrical maintenance or engineering support role.
  • 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification.
  • Completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship, supported by an HNC or Level 3 NVQ in a relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience working within an engineering or industrial environment.
  • City & Guilds (C&G) Electrical qualification.

What can you expect from us?

As an employee of Urenco, you will benefit from a comprehensive and competitive rewards package, including:

  • Annual leave starting at 25 days, increasing by one day for every two years of service, up to a maximum of 30 days.
  • An additional 13 flexible days off, plus the option to buy or sell up to 5 days of annual leave through our holiday trading scheme.
  • A wide range of family-friendly policies to support work–life balance at every stage of life.

  • A generous bonus scheme recognising performance and contribution.
  • A defined contribution pension scheme, with up to 16% employer contribution.

  • Alongside mandatory health and safety training, tailored development programmes will be offered to meet your individual needs and career goals.

Security vetting

Due to the nature of the industry that Urenco operates in, all personnel regardless of employment status working for Urenco are required to obtain security clearance at the level required for their role. Security clearances are assessed in accordance with regulations and official guidance issued by the relevant competent authorities for national security vetting. In certain circumstances, additional enhanced security clearance considerations apply to roles within Urenco owing to the particular activities that the Urenco Group undertakes in relation to uranium enrichment.
