Communications Officer

UUK is looking for a Communications Officer, 12 month fixed term contract. This job is grade G13.

Based at our Capenhurst site you’ll plan and deliver a full spectrum of strategic communications activities to protect and enhance Urenco’s reputation at the Capenhurst site, locally, regionally and nationally.

The role will include creating engaging and audience-led communications and content, with a focus on storytelling for a range of stakeholders. Supporting the Capenhurst site and its staff, the successful candidate will be required to attend lead team meetings, give professional guidance and engage with the local community and media.

· What you’ll do:

Develop creative and engaging communication strategies, establishing two-way and face-to-face communication channels where possible to build employee engagement, particularly during organisational change.
· Local stakeholder and community engagement providing a service of two-way dialogue with key local stakeholder audiences.
· Supporting crisis communications at a local level under the direction of Head Office as required by the Group policy.
· Deliver internal strategic communications activity, including deploying resources and managing risks. Support managers to ensure they are confident in delivering key messages and assist managers in the delivery of messages when appropriate and necessary.
· Lead communications work within group and site projects.

What do you need to thrive in this role?

· Relevant communications and/or journalism qualification
· Experience of working in a corporate strategic communications role.
· Proven track record of delivering strategic communication campaigns that are audience-led, outcome focused and based on data and insight.
