Job Responsibilities
Play a key role in the Radiation Protection Departmental personnel selection, orienting, training, development and succession planning.
Prioritize and allocate resources and budget to satisfy organizational objectives, schedules and emergent issues.
Ensure the development of related technical specifications to support critical project and UUSA activities in a manner that will enable compliance with budgeted costs and schedules.
Monitor the survey and control of radioactive materials including radiological procedure compliance for receipt, proper identification, labeling and containment (packaging) of radioactive materials/waste, or shipment of such materials.
Support the monitoring and control of radiation exposure of personnel.
Determine the continuous radiological status of the facility and perform radiation protection program audits annually.
Propose and manage related programs or analytical solutions that address UUSA business and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for radiation protection training and task qualification.
Ensure radiological protection program is kept current, controlled and configuration management is maintained.
Stay abreast of current trends and maintain knowledge ensuring that the radiological program maintains the best practices in the industry.
