On 7 June 2012, His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange officially opened Urenco Nederland’s SP5 Hall 7. The event saw the Prince unload a product cylinder onto a lorry. He then went on a tour of SP5, hosted by UNL’s Managing Director Huub Rakhorst. En route, he spoke to several operators. The visit was concluded by a tour of the Stable Isotopes facility where Arjan Bos, Head of SI, informed the Prince about medical isotopes in particular.
Representatives from across the Urenco Group came together to mark this historic occasion. Other notable guests from across the Netherlands included Mrs A. Bijleveld-Schouten, Royal Commissioner for the Province of Overijssel, Mrs J. Hermans-Vloedbeld, Mayor of Almelo, and Mr J. Stremmler, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture & Innovation.
Urenco looks back upon a very successful visit.
