01 July 2019

A group of 18 participants of the 2019 International Nuclear Facility Experience (NFE) visited the Urenco Nederland facility last month. The NFE is an annual program at Texas A&M University for graduate‐level engineering and policy students studying in the area of nuclear material safeguards. The NFE provides an opportunity to visit advanced operating nuclear fuel cycle facilities to gain experiential understanding in facility operations, nuclear materials management, and applied material safeguards. Their visit to Almelo was part of a European tour with visits to facilities in Germany, Belgium and Switzerland.
