For all of our graduate positions we require you to have completed your Bachelor’s degree. Specific grades are required for certain positions, and some will require Master’s degree as well.
For our graduate roles, it is common that we will require a final grade of a 2:1 or above. This will need to be in a transferable course, relevant to the position.

Graduates
We offer a range of graduate and entry-level positions at our Paddington office, mainly within our Commercial and Finance teams, with opportunities in other functions opening as business needs evolve.

These opportunities are suited to graduates who have completed, or are soon to complete, a relevant degree and are keen to start their career with a company genuinely contributing to a net-zero future and taking a long-term approach to sustainability.
We’re looking for people who are interested in how a global organisation operates, who value collaboration and professionalism, and want to develop their skills in a supportive environment. You should be comfortable learning on the job, working with others and taking pride in doing your work well.
We look for potential rather than prior experience within the nuclear industry. We’re more interested in understanding your motivation to building a career within an organisation that values safety, integrity, and continuous improvement, and that you are open to learning and growing as part of our team.

The majority of our graduate level positions are advertised in the Spring; however, this may vary throughout the year based on business need.
You’ll be required to submit a CV to begin with, with our application process involving a combination of online assessments, work-based tasks and interviews.

Meet our past and present graduates
Alistair
Graduate Financial Officer
I am an Assistant Financial Officer at the Urenco Head Office. While I was studying for my undergraduate degree, I was part of a society that created and ran social enterprises in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Understanding the importance of carbon-free energy production to limit global warming led me to Urenco.
I couldn’t be prouder to be part of the solution. One of the social enterprise projects was helping elderly beneficiaries out of fuel poverty by making efficiency improvements to their home. I know how important it is to domestically produce carbon-free energy by all means to bring prices down to an equitable level.
Being a member of the finance team allows me to utilise my analytical skills to provide insight as to how Urenco can allocate resources to maximise growth during a period of expansion for the wider nuclear sector. It is an exciting time to be working for Urenco. There is a clear path for professional development – for me this is studying for a chartered qualification, and long term career prospects.
My advice to applicants would be to show a genuine interest in sustainability because the long term future of Urenco is to fuel a larger proportion of the global energy mix with carbon-free nuclear power, and in your role, you will be allowed the autonomy to ideate value adding initiatives.

International Tax Analyst Graduate
I am an International Tax Analyst based at Urenco’s head office with an educational background in energy and environmental science, policy and economics.
I wanted to join Urenco because I strongly believe nuclear power forms a key pillar in delivering low carbon energy security. Working at a company which aims to be part of the global environmental solution while taking its role of nuclear stewardship so seriously is really rewarding.
Working in Group Tax gives me a great exposure and appreciation of a wide variety of business areas at a really unique point of the nuclear fuel cycle. It allows me to learn, use, and develop new and existing analytical skills to add company value while helping ensure we remain an ethically active business.
Urenco has given me a clear path for professional development, in the form of chartered qualifications, with long term career prospects. The team around me are very supportive, and I’m lucky to work with a great group of people.
It’s a really exciting time to be working for Urenco, especially with our planned capacity expansion. My advice for anyone looking to apply would to be genuinely enthusiastic about the nuclear industry and its position within our energy mix.

Commercial Graduate
I joined Urenco in September 2023. I studied Environmental Geoscience at the University of Bristol. My last module at university was 'Environmental Radioactivity', which explored the nuclear fuel cycle; hence, I learned about Urenco.
This was my favourite module, and it coincided with a recently posted graduate opportunity with the company, who's commitment to sustainability and enriching the future with carbon-free energy was a perfect opportunity to start my professional career.
My graduate rotations included time in the following teams: Commercial & Market Intelligence, Transport & Optimisation and Contracts. Highlights include trips to Urenco’s sites as well as attending conferences with plenty of networking opportunities.
My favourite trip was attending the UxC Nuclear Fuel Training Seminar in Atlanta. A comprehensive three-day seminar that provides attendees with a thorough understanding of the nuclear fuel market. I have now moved on to the graduate scheme and taken a role as Commercial Intelligence Analyst. Responsibilities are monthly cash flow reporting alongside managing the Commercial department's costs. Outside of my main responsibilities, I coordinate with the sales team and contract managers and assist with strategic and business development reports.

Commercial Graduate
Although I’d touched on the nuclear industry during my geography studies, I had no professional experience in the sector before joining Urenco. However, I’ve learnt that this really isn’t a barrier; if you’re curious, aligned with the company’s values, and excited to learn, you’ll quickly find your place. In fact, I’ve found coming in with a fresh perspective can be a real strength.
One of the biggest reasons I chose Urenco was its commitment to sustainability and its positive impact on climate change through its core services. With so much momentum and innovations, it’s also an exciting time to be part of the nuclear industry.
Working in the commercial team has been a great opportunity to work at the core of the business, driving decision making and our strategy forward. Since joining the department I’ve completed rotations in Commercial Intelligence, Group Planning and now the Advanced Fuels team. Each rotation has involved shadowing colleagues, supporting live projects and gaining exposure to the wider business.
The development opportunities have been incredible: site visits, international travel, time in Parliament and at the IAEA in Vienna, plus industry conferences and a trip to the UAE and its Barakah Power Plant with the Young Generation Network. Urenco really is a supportive, collaborative place to work and a brilliant environment to start your career.
