2022 Lea County Fair and Rodeo Parade

10 August 2022 UUSA News

On Wednesday, August 3, UUSA participated in the Lea County Fair and Rodeo Parade in Lovington, NM.

Each year, UUSA is a proud sponsor of  the Lea County Fair and Rodeo and participant in the parade, and this year was no exception. In fact, this year’s parade theme, Honoring Our Heritage, was close to our hearts.

With over 35% of our workforce comprised of U.S. veterans, UUSA can easily say that our heritage has strong ties to the women and men who have served in the U.S. armed forces. To honor this heritage and the veterans who help keep our facility running each and every day, UUSA proudly drove our red, white, and blue float through the streets of Lovington, NM.

This year’s float was painted and decorated by our interns, whose enthusiasm and drive were instrumental throughout the process. Ethan Davis, one of our Maintenance interns, even took the time to hand-paint an American flag on the back of our float. The interns also helped us celebrate during the parade, riding on the float and showcasing our UUSA pride as we waved to onlookers in the crowd.

In addition to our interns, a several children of our employees joined us on the float. Among all the kids, the consensus was that this year’s float experience was definitely a 10 out of 10.
