After nearly 15 years on the Urenco Ltd Board, Stephen Billingham will step down as Chairman and a director at the end of his current term on 30 June 2024.
Stephen has been Chairman since 2016 and, prior to that, a UK Government appointed non-executive director. He has been one of the longest serving directors in the company’s history and has attended nearly 100 Board meetings since 2009.
Commenting on his departure, Stephen said: “It has been a great privilege to be involved in such a special and important company for so long. I joined at a time of production expansion and leave when Urenco is once again boosting its capacity. Urenco is more important to the world now than at any time in its history and has an essential role to play in providing reliable low carbon energy. I thank everyone at Urenco for their support over the years and I have been proud to have played a small part in Urenco’s success.”
Boris Schucht, Urenco CEO, added: “On behalf of the company and the Board I would like to thank Stephen for his long-term service to Urenco. He has made a huge contribution, in both positive and more challenging times, showing great leadership and ensuring Urenco continues to go from strength to strength.”
The approvals for the appointment of Stephen’s successor as Chairman are in their final stages and an announcement is expected shortly.
