The Science, Innovation and Technology Committee has published its report entitled "Delivering nuclear power", which reflects on the UK Government's plans to generate 25% of electricity from nuclear power by 2050.
You can read the full report here.
Urenco had submitted both oral and written evidence to the inquiry as a witness and is referenced in the final report.
Emilie Isaacs, Head of Government Affairs for Urenco, said:
“The UK Government has taken decisive, positive action so far in relation to nuclear energy policy and is to be applauded, amongst other things, for introducing Great British Nuclear to act as a delivery vehicle.
“The additional clarity called for by the Committee by means of a detailed Nuclear Strategic Plan or the firming-up of GBN’s role in the landscape outside of the SMR competition, can only help to further increase confidence in the industry, including the supply chain, and enable it to deliver.
“Energy security and independence have never been as important as they are today, and we stand ready to play our part in supporting the Government and industry as a whole.”
