Urenco takes on new IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Programme intern

18 May 2026 Global Sustainability

Urenco has welcomed an intern as part of its second intake from an industry-leading women-in-nuclear programme that it has supported for over five years.

Isabella has joined Urenco as an intern with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP) and will be working out of our head office in London.

She has joined the Business Development team at Urenco Isotopes, a global supplier of stable and medical isotopes, with applications ranging from healthcare and industry to research and energy innovation.

This follows the appointment of two previous IAEA MSCFP interns at the company, who were based at our UK enrichment site in Capenhurst.

Urenco has a well-established social impact partnership with the IAEA and has supported the MSCFP since its foundation in 2020.

The programme seeks to promote an inclusive workforce - facilitating scholarships for highly motivated students to study at a Master’s level, with opportunities to pursue an internship.

Isabella said:

“I heard about the MSCFP while studying Nuclear Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley and was inspired to apply. Drawing from my engineering background, I am excited to learn about the business development aspects of Urenco Isotopes and to build skills that support a longterm career at the intersection of engineering and strategy.”

Adriana Ceruso, Business Development Lead, Isotopes, said:

“It is an exciting time to be involved in the growth of Urenco Isotopes across important applications serving a variety of industries from radiopharmaceuticals to semiconductors and beyond. We’re delighted to welcome Isabella into our team, supporting her early career development.”

The scholarships are awarded annually, with selection by the IAEA based on field of study, geographic and linguistic diversity and other factors. More information about MSCFP can be found here.
