‘Smashing Stereotypes’ features over 40 profiles of individuals and teams challenging long-standing misconceptions about pursuing a career in science or engineering.
British Science Week is an annual ten-day celebration of science, technology engineering and maths running from 6-15 March 2026 which includes a range of resources to help inspire people of all ages.
Director of Development and External Affairs at the British Science Association, Vijay Jassal said:
“We’re so pleased to partner with Urenco for a fourth year on Smashing Stereotypes – our campaign aimed at encouraging more people, from all backgrounds, to see themselves as scientists and engineers.
“Both of this year’s stories are so inspiring in different ways, with Mo just starting out in his career in an exciting new field, embracing new opportunities, and Dan showing what’s possible through perseverance, even if things don’t go to plan at first.”
Urenco’s Social Impact Lead, Rosie Salkeld said:
“Sharing colleague stories is a great way to convey the diverse roles and people who work in STEM; we are delighted to be supporting this campaign again, and look forward to welcoming the next generation of scientists and engineers into our industry.”
