The event, from November 4-6, provided a dynamic platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing and showcasing innovation, with Urenco team members taking an active part in the programme agenda.
Urenco CEO, Boris Schucht, participated in an executive panel on nuclear financing, where he emphasised the importance of consistent government engagement, reliable delivery, and the role of industry in enabling the emerging SMR market.
Head of Urenco Isotopes, Linda Ashton, alongside Tom Haywood from Astral Systems, gave a workshop presentation on the isotopes market, highlighting their growing applications in advanced technologies and radiotherapeutics.
Meanwhile, Head of Advanced Fuels, Commercial, Magnus Mori, joined customers Jimmy and Radiant to deliver a joint-workshop, delving into the evolving landscape of advanced nuclear technologies, discussing progress in reactor designs and fuelling strategies.
Both respective workshops were well attended by WNE delegates.
For the first time, Urenco supported three national pavilions at the WNE: the UK, German and US Pavilions – reflecting the locations of the company's enrichment sites. Although The Netherlands did not have its own pavilion, it was the first time that UUSA had a presence at the American pavilion.
The event culminated on Thursday, with the signing of a multi-billion-euro contract between Urenco and EDF for enriched uranium services. Read more here.
