Urenco has today published its annual Sustainability Report online for the year ending 31 December 2017.
The report provides Urenco’s stakeholders with a balanced, transparent and accurate representation of Urenco's business in regards to its economic, environmental and social impacts.
Centred on six core focus areas including: Health & Safety, Safeguards and Security, Environmental impact, Supplier of choice, Employee engagement, Community engagement and Asset integrity, the sustainability report highlights Urenco's key achievements over the past year in its material areas and non-financial KPIs. It also includes current and future challenges and how the business is adapting to ensure its long-term sustainability.
The report has been prepared in accordance with the new Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI) ‘Standards’, demonstrating Urenco's commitment to best practice and continual improvement.
Miriam Maes, member of the Urenco Limited Board and Chair of its Sustainability Committee said:
"Balancing our long term strategic and commercial goals with the interests of society and the environment is of great importance to Urenco.
‘Our sustainability programme is built around six key areas of focus, which ensures we report on the most relevant topics to our business and those of specific interest to our stakeholders.
‘As Chair of the Sustainability Committee, I am pleased with the progress we have made in embedding sustainable practices into day to day operations, and in using the principles of GRI and the UN Sustainable Development Goals to guide our overall strategic direction."
