Reporting to the COO, you will provide leadership in assuring the ongoing compliance with export control regulations and in driving improvements to how export controls are managed across the Group. Working across all parts of the business and closely with the export control managers/advisors from each site, the role holder will take an over-arching view of export control compliance. Main areas of accountability will include:
Design, implement and maintain an export control internal compliance programme across the Group
Ensure delivery of all export control compliance initiatives
Chair the Export Control Working Group and advise senior stakeholders up to ExCom level on export control matters
Act as the primary customer of the Export Controlled Information Protection Strategy and programme providing guidance and support as required to improve the control and protection of controlled technology across the group.
Manage group level export control risks and issues and measure performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
You will be educated to degree level or have relevant industry experience as a business manager within a heavily regulated high hazard industry, and have a sound knowledge of export controls. With proven experience in a management role and delivering business improvements, ideally related to compliance, you will also have ability to:
Foster a cooperative team environment and work well with all levels in an organisation
Lead and implement change, motivate and coach others
Act within an environment of conflicting interests
Build and maintain an environment of trust.
