URENCO appoints Group Controller
URENCO Limited is pleased to announce that Mr Reinier Roelants has been appointed as Group Controller for the URENCO Group, based at the Group’s Head Office in Marlow, UK, reporting to Bart Le Blanc, Chief Finance Officer.
Mr Roelants, an Economics graduate from the University of Groningen, who also holds a Masters of International Finance from the University of Amsterdam, moves to URENCO from the Ministry of Finance, The Hague. His most recent position was Head of Department Participations & Finance, where he was responsible for the control of state shareholding in a number of companies, and was responsible for the execution and negotiations of numerous financial transactions.
As URENCO’s Group Controller Mr Roelants will be responsible for analysis and financial control of Group companies such as UEC, (URENCO enrichment plants located in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands); Enrichment Technology Company, (the 50-50 joint venture between URENCO and Areva of France) and LES (the new enrichment facility under construction in the US). As Group Controller, he will provide a particular focus to URENCO’s major investment programmes in Europe and the US (exceeding €3 billion in the coming five years).
Bart Le Blanc, Chief Finance Officer commented: “Mr Roelants knowledge and experience will assist the Group as we continue to drive forward our strategy of ‘growth through investment’. Controlling of major investment programmes is essential for URENCO’s sound financial position and its ability to continue its strong business performance.”
