New technique creates all-round savings
Clemens Hundebeck-Brinker, Head of Recycling at Gronau, and four of his team members, introduced a new blasting technique at Gronau (used as part of the decontamination process). Tested in 2008, the new ceramic abrasive is more efficient and lasts ten times longer than the previously used glass beads. In addition to the environmental benefits, Gronau make a significant cost saving of €40,000 through the reduced cost of the abrasive raw material compared to the glass beads.
