Stakeholder engagement
URENCO understands that in order to effectively communicate with its stakeholders, it is essential to open up a two-way dialogue in order to get valuable feedback. The following table outlines the ways in which URENCO aims to communicate with key stakeholders and ensure there is a mechanism for collecting and reacting to feedback

Stakeholder communications
One successful avenue of communication is the Local Liaison Committee at Capenhurst. People from all sectors of the local community are encouraged to attend these meetings and are given the opportunity to put questions, issues and points of view to Capenhurst’s senior management as well as representatives of government agencies, regulators, emergency services and local authorities.
As part of the Company’s commitment to being a good corporate citizen, URENCO engages with the local community through a number of initiatives and projects. The success of such programmes is very much dependent on the enthusiasm and commitment of employees in volunteering their services and time.
The ‘Active in the Community’ award seeks to reward these employees. Every year URENCO presents an award to an individual who has demonstrated dedication and support to the local community. In 2008, the award for Capenhurst was presented to Geoff Owens in theCommunications Department, who devotes much of his free time to a variety of local projects, most recently with the countrywide ‘Brightside’ charity, which focuses on helping disadvantaged individuals in schools.
In 2008, this initiative was expanded to URENCO’s Head office in Marlow. Following an employee vote, the inaugural award was presented to Andy Crockett in the Marketing and Sales department for his fundraising and support of local charities.
Through financial contributions and the voluntary efforts of many employees, URENCO’s
'sponsorship and donations policy' focuses on three key areas: education, healthy living and the environment. For example, URENCO recognises that investing in children is investing in the future and supports a number of initiatives which focus on education.
