Vision, mission and values
The creation of company wide core Values is the first step in developing a one company culture. Since its formation in the 1970s, URENCO has always conducted its business by observing the highest possible levels of safety, security, innovation, efficiency and development. Over the years different aspects and business units of the Group have adopted new Values which they have adhered to.
In 2005/06 URENCO developed a Group wide Vision, Mission and formal set of Values which was launched to & integrated within the company as a whole.
URENCO's Vision states:
"We believe the future needs nuclear power to meet the demand for sustainable global energy."
Nuclear power is increasingly seen as the number one commercial choice for a sustainable energy supply, free from the uncertainty and inherent environmental dangers of the diminishing fossil-based fuel alternatives. URENCO is proud to play its part and strongly believes that nuclear energy is the only viable option to meet the world's growing demand for electricity.
URENCO's Mission states:
"Enriching the Future is our commitment, through the global deployment of our nuclear products, services and technology to support sustainable nuclear energy"
URENCO's strap line, 'Enriching the future' was adopted in early 2005. The phrase embodies URENCO's objectives for employees, shareholders, customers and other stakeholders in both environmental and commercial terms.
These Vision and Mission statements are understood and accepted by the Group's employees. Additionally, a set of 'Values' have been developed which set out the framework in which all employees have committed to work.
These Values are captured in five themes:
